An expert guide will lead you through Amalfi’s medieval alleyways and afterwards you can dive into the fairy-tale and rarefied atmosphere of the Valle dei Mulini (Valley of the Mills) to discover the traces of a glorious past.

What will you see on this journey back in time?

Your adventure will begin in the historical centre of Amalfi, where you will admire the picturesque alleys and testimonies of a past rich in history: you will be fascinated by the anecdotes and curiosities that your guide will tell you.

Continuing with the typical amiable local leisureliness that will allow you to observe and fully enjoy your experience, you will reach the Basilica di Sant’Eustachio, a place full of charm and mystery.

Although in ruins, the building still preserves its beauty and all the charm of its past: it will enchant you!

The experience will proceed to discover the Valle dei Mulini, a green and uncontaminated spot, which will impress you with its fairy-tale atmosphere, crystal-clear waterfalls, and lush forest, which preserves precious specimens of rare plants, such as the Woodwardia radicans, a rare prehistoric fern, which has been preserved thanks to the special climatic conditions of this place.

You will then continue along the River Canneto and admire the ruins of the ancient paper mills, once the hub of the Amalfi Coast’s paper industry.

No spoilers: your guide will tell you the rest of the details!

Two bonuses of this experience:

🔹 You are entitled to a special entrance to the protected area: you will be able to admire the unspoilt beauty of this place, the waterfalls, the paths surrounded by greenery and the rich biodiversity

🔹 You can enrich your tour with lunch at a local agriturismo located in the valley, enjoying a light meal overlooking Amalfi and savouring the typical flavours of Campania’s culinary tradition

🔹 either by travelling by sea
🔹 or travelling by SITA SUD bus.

By sea: Travelmar ferries leave from Salerno and Amalfi about every hour and stop in Minori, Maiori, Cetara and Vietri sul Mare. Positano is also well connected by sea transport.

By SITA SUD buses: Amalfi is the departure and arrival point for all buses to and from the Amalfi Coast, so you can easily reach your destination from wherever you leave.

Remember to buy tickets before boarding or download the UNICO App, which allows you to buy tickets from your smartphone wherever you are.

📣 Tip

You could complete your trip by visiting the historical centre of Amalfi, with its Duomo and Paper Museum. Or you could take the opportunity to walk to nearby Atrani. In this case, take the “little secret road”.

From Piazza di Amalfi to Atrani it takes only 15 minutes on walk!

A small, almost secret passage under the monumental staircase of Amalfi Cathedral, on the left, quickly leads you through a charming alley to Piazza Municipio.

A few steps from here, next to the colourful majolica mural, you will notice a flight of steps leading up to the ancient Rione Capo di Croce.
Take the uphill path and take Via Roberto il Guiscardo, through the characteristic little steps, and you will be in the Piazzetta di Atrani in no time!

Thanks to its scenery, history, and especially its glamorous and worldly atmosphere, it is one of the most popular travel destinations
