Tucked high above the bustling Amalfi Coast, a hidden gem of culinary wisdom await you: get ready to savor the details of this authentic cooking class in Agerola!
Crossing the doorstep of Palazzo Acampora is like travelling back in time. Among noble stuccoes, ancient halls and the scent of history, this elegant residence in Agerola welcomes guests in an intimate and timeless atmosphere.
It is here, in Nonna Adele’s kitchen, that a unique gastronomic experience comes to life, guided and inspired by Michelin-starred chef Vincenzo Guarino — ambassador of Mediterranean cuisine around the world.
The day begins with a guided tour of the historic palace, followed by a walk in the palace’s vegetable garden, where you can pick the fresh vegetables you will use during the lesson. Then, in the charming kitchen of the residence, under the guidance and supervision of Chef Guarino, you will learn the secrets of authentic Campania cuisine, preparing three iconic traditional dishes: gnocchi with tomato and basil, aubergine parmigiana, and chocolate and almond caprese cake.
Alternatively, you can experiment with handmade Capri ravioli or ‘ndunderi. The menu may vary according to the season and the availability of fresh, local produce.
Those who wish can enrich the experience with a visit to the palace’s historic wine cellar or a cheese-making lesson to learn how to make artisan fior di latte with a local cheesemaker.
The day ends in the majestic dining room, where you will taste the dishes prepared together with the other participants, accompanied by a selection of local wines such as Marisa Cuomo or Antica Radice.
A toast to taste, memory and the joy of cooking with your hands, with your heart — and under the guidance of an excellent chef.
