You do know, don't you, that with us the beach is a state of mind? Read this guide about the best beaches in Amalfi Coast!

📍The beach of Salicerchie

In the area they also call it ‘Acquachiara’, precisely because of the blue colour of the clear, clean waters that bathe it. It is, in fact, one of the locals' favourite beaches, located not far from the centre of Maiori.

You can easily find it, just a few minutes' walk from your accommodation: if you proceed along the SS 163 and pass the majestic Torre Normanna, after a few metres, you will glimpse the steps to reach it.

We recommend that you do this early in the morning, as it can get crowded in the middle of the day, especially in July and August.

You are also very close to:
📍Corso Reginna, where you will find shops, bars and services, and the Gardens of Palazzo Mezzapaco
📍Minori, which is about 1 km away and which you can also reach on foot
📍The Path of The Lemons
📍the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria a Mare, with its majolica dome
📍Santa Maria de Olearia

🗓️ Events not to be missed

Spontaneity, authenticity, human warmth, respect for traditions: these are the elements that characterise the events that, in our opinion, you absolutely must not miss.

Of course, many musical, cultural and entertainment events are planned around summer, both in Maiori and in the neighbouring towns: remember to keep an eye on local websites or inquire at the hotel where you are staying, which will certainly be able to provide you with advice and suggestions on the most interesting things to do.

However, we would like to point out two highlights that you absolutely must not miss, especially if you are staying in Maiori.

✅ The first event not to be missed is Ferragosto, the most authentic expression of the essence of the Maiori locals: on this occasion, in fact, the locals celebrate their patron saint, Santa Maria a Mare.

On 15 August, the town of Maiori is devoutly gathered around the celebrations in honour of the Madonna: don't miss the celebration, whose climax is reached with the traditional ‘run’ along the stairs leading to the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria a Mare.

In addition to the moment of religious faith, the day is made even more special by the fireworks show, which lights up the sky of Maiori, always leaving the numerous travellers who flock to the occasion astonished.

✅ The second major moment for the city of Maiori and, therefore, the second event you absolutely must not miss is the Gran Carnevale Maiorese, a celebration that brings the whole community together, a dive into traditions and an explosion of creativity. For decades, in fact, the streets of Maiori have come alive with colourful allegorical floats, bizarre masks and wild dance groups.

Behind each float, there is the passionate work of dozens of people who for months dedicate themselves to the creation of unique works of art in papier-mâché.

It is a magic moment when time seems to stand still and where everyone can indulge in the fun. If you are in Maiori during the Carnival period, you cannot miss this event: an unforgettable experience of music, colours and merriment, a true hymn to joy and life.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

The Sospiro al limone from the Trieste pastry shop
Pasticceria Trieste's Sospiro al Limone (Lemon Sigh) is much more than just a cake. It is a true work of art, the result of a tradition handed down from generation to generation.

Hidden within the walls of the historic Pasticceria Trieste, located in Corso Reginna, this delicate dessert is a symphony of flavours that enhances the freshness of sfusato amalfitano.

The light and fluffy sponge cake blends perfectly with the melting icing and lemon cream, making for a unique and unmistakable balance of flavours.
Enjoying a Sospiro al Limone at Pasticceria Trieste is like taking a trip back in time, savouring a piece of Amalfi Coast history and tradition.

Aubergines with chocolate at Ferragosto
Aubergines with chocolate are an iconic dessert of the Amalfi Coast, particularly of Maiori. This special combination of apparently contrasting flavours stems from a long tradition rooted in time.

It is said that the original recipe was brought to Maiori by a monk cook, and that over the centuries it has been enriched and perfected by local housewives. Aubergine, fried in extra virgin olive oil and then dipped in a mouth-watering chocolate sauce, is a dish that combines simplicity of ingredients with complexity of flavours.

The sweetness of the chocolate, the slight bitterness of the aubergines and the aroma of cinnamon and clove create a unique and unforgettable combination. Try it, if you come to Maiori, because this dessert, besides being a pleasure for the palate, is also a true symbol of Maiori's gastronomic culture.
