🧭 How to reach Hotel San Francesco

How to reach the Hotel San Francesco
Thanks to its strategic, central location, right in the heart of Maiori, reaching the Hotel San Francesco is easy, whether you are travelling by car or by public transport.

The hotel is located in Via Santa Tecla, 54, very close to the bus stop.

If travelling by car

Let's start with the first piece of good news: the hotel has its own car park, so you can be sure of a parking space when you reach your destination.

This is no small feat, considering that at specific times of the year it can be difficult to find a place for your car.

βœ…β€‹ By car, from the A1 highway take the exit for the Amalfi Coast and follow the road to Maiori: there are a few bends to deal with, so drive slowly and don't get distracted looking at your smartphone.

By train or bus

βœ…β€‹ Once you arrive at Naples airport, you can rely on the Alibus service, which takes you to the train station.
From here, you can take an Intercity or regional train to Salerno: the journey time from Naples to Salerno is approximately 50-60 minutes.

βœ…β€‹ If, on the other hand, you land at Salerno airport, you can reach the city using the Salerno Airlink service, which offers a direct and fast shuttle service to the railway station,

Alternatively, you can request a taxi service in front of the terminal, which has predetermined fares

Once in Salerno, you have two options:

β€‹πŸ”Ήβ€‹ you can travel on board the SITA SUD buses, which leave every hour from Via Vinciprova and make a first stop right in front of the station. You can buy tickets at the newspaper kiosk in the station. Otherwise, you can buy them on the Unico APP: we recommend downloading it in advance so that you also have the bus timetables at your fingertips.

Buses from Salerno leave about every hour and stop at all the towns along the Coast: the journey therefore takes about an hour, but rewards you with the pleasure of a breathtaking view and the chance to catch a glimpse of something interesting between stops.

β€‹πŸ”Ήβ€‹ you can travel by sea, going to the Molo Concordia, which is just a ten-minute walk from the station. Here you can travel on Travelmar ferries, which will take you to your destination in about 45 minutes. The tourist port of Maiori is not far from your accommodation: in about ten minutes of pleasant walking you will be at reception!

Want to immerse yourself in Maiori's culture and traditions?

βœ…β€‹ Ferragosto is a magical moment when the community comes together to celebrate its patron saint. The day is dedicated to Santa Maria a Mare, the patron saint of Maiori, and focuses on an intense and heartfelt celebration, rich in popular traditions handed down from generation to generation.

According to legend, the statue of the Virgin was found in the sea completely intact: this event marked a turning point in the town's history, establishing an indissoluble bond between the community and its patron saint. The 15 August festival, therefore, is much more than a simple celebration: it is a moment of deep spirituality and devotion, in which the faithful thank the Madonna for her protection and intercession. The procession, the 127-step race and the fireworks are all symbolic rituals that evoke this special bond.

βœ…β€‹ And if you love fun and creativity, the Gran Carnevale Maiorese is the perfect event for you: a veritable laboratory of creativity where the entire community has been coming together for decades, carrying on a tradition beloved by locals, giving life to a collective work of art. Months of work, passion and skill result in extraordinary parade floats, the fruit of the talent and skill of local artists. Every detail, from planning to execution, is taken care of with love and dedication, transforming the streets of Maiori into a colourful and surprising stage.

Here you will find an in-depth look at the fascinating history of the Gran Carnevale Maiorese.

We would like to remind you that there is no shortage of cultural and musical events, especially during the summer, that enliven summer evenings and enrich them with excitement and pleasure.
