✅ If you travel by public transport

By plane: from Naples or Salerno

🔹 If you arrive at Naples Capodichino Airport, you can reach the Central Station in about 15-20 minutes by Alibus (departing every 15-20 minutes) or by taxi at a fixed rate. From Naples, you can continue by train to Salerno or Sorrento, choosing the most convenient solution for your itinerary on the Amalfi Coast.
🔹 If you land at the new Costa d'Amalfi Airport in Salerno, you can easily reach the city centre by taxi or Airlink bus, available throughout the day.
From Salerno to Positano

You have two convenient and scenic options:
🔹 By Travelmar ferry: regular ferries depart from the Molo Concordia in Salerno for Amalfi. From Amalfi, you can continue to Positano by another ferry or by SITA Sud bus.
🔹 Bus + ferry combination: you can opt to start your journey by sea or by land based on the available timetables. If you are travelling in low season (autumn or early spring), you can opt for a bus journey: reach Amalfi and from there take the line to Sorrento, which stops directly in Positano.

If you arrive at the Marina Grande pier in Positano, simply take the Sorrento-Meta-Positano-Amalfi line and get off at Via Liparlati.
From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to your destination.
The bus stop for Laurito is only a minute's walk from the property.

📍 Laurito beach

Laurito beach is a little gem hidden away on the Amalfi Coast, perfect for those looking for an authentic corner of the sea away from the crowds. Located between two imposing cliffs just after Arienzo, you could easily imagine it as a wild place, but here nothing is missing: sand mixed with white pebbles, a sea with shades ranging from emerald green to deep blue, sandy gravel and rocks perfect for snorkelling among fish and marine vegetation.

Accessible on foot via a staircase leading down from the Hotel San Pietro or by sea with shuttle boats and private boats, it offers a rare level of comfort for such a secret cove.
Although small in size, the beach is an ideal place if you love the sea in tranquillity and want to explore clear waters without the crowds of the more famous resorts. In high season, we recommend booking sun loungers and umbrellas to ensure a relaxing experience in a picture-postcard setting.

📣 Here is our guide to the most popular beaches on the Amalfi Coast.

📍 The centre of Positano

Imagine a labyrinth of staircases, alleys and white cliff-side steps climbing up the rock, offering breathtaking views of the endless turquoise sea: this is the historic centre of Positano, a collection of lively alleys and artisan shops under the sun of the Amalfi Coast. In this vertical town by the sea, every step is an experience: climb slowly, stop to take a side street and let yourself be surprised by views that change at every corner. Comfortable shoes? Absolutely, but your Instagram photos will be unbeatable.
In the centre of the village, imposing with its warm-coloured majolica dome, stands the Church of Santa Maria Assunta: an absolute must-see attraction. Visit the interior to admire the iconic Black Madonna and enjoy the charming churchyard, perfect for a reflective break with a view of the sea.

Between one climb and another, you'll come across chic little shops where local artisans sell ceramics, handmade sandals, fabrics and elegant souvenirs. Here you can find that unique piece that will remind you of your holiday with a smile. And when you feel the call of coffee or an aperitif, stop at one of the many bars with panoramic terraces: sip an iced tea or limoncello while enjoying the lively atmosphere of the village.
If you want to add a cultural touch to your tour, don't miss the Roman Archaeological Museum (MAR Positano), nestled beneath the church, which houses frescoes from the ancient Roman villa and an evocative crypt.

📍 The rural village of Nocelle

Perched high above the sea at about 440 metres above sea level, Nocelle is the highest and oldest hamlet of Positano, an authentic corner of tranquillity nestled between the mountains and the sea. Its name, Latin for “nova cella” (“new dwelling”), suggests ancient origins and a charm that has stood the test of time. Here, narrow streets, pastel-coloured houses and flower-filled alleys create a suspended, intimate atmosphere that makes Nocelle a precious refuge for those seeking peace, nature and panoramic views.

A popular destination for hikers, Nocelle marks the arrival – or departure – of the famous Path of the Gods, which connects Agerola to Positano in about 3 hours, offering unique panoramic views of the coast, the Faraglioni of Capri and Li Galli. The village is also known for its small church dedicated to the Madonna del Carmelo, which celebrates its feast day on 16 July, overlooking the main square, the heart of the local community.

Reaching Nocelle by public transport is easy and environmentally friendly: take the Mobility Amalfi Coast line (SITA Sud) from Positano to Montepertuso/Nocelle. The bus climbs along the scenic SS163 and drops you off a few steps from the village. Alternatively, many visitors prefer to walk from the centre of Positano, taking the steps through Arienzo and Montepertuso for an immersive experience of the vertical beauty of the place.

🎉 Things to do nearby

Staying in Positano means treating yourself to much more than just a holiday: it is a special opportunity to experience the Amalfi Coast as a protagonist, exploring breathtaking landscapes, ancient villages, historical sites and crystal clear waters that look like something out of a painting.

✅ If you love walking in nature, the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) is undoubtedly one of the experiences not to be missed. Imagine walking suspended between the sky and the sea, with spectacular views accompanying you along the entire route. The trek starts in Bomerano and ends in the small village of Nocelle, above Positano, and is perfect for those who want to connect with nature and enjoy postcard views. If you want to enjoy this adventure without any worries, there are organised excursions that depart directly from your hotel and also include pleasant gastronomic stops at local trattorias with sea view terraces.

✅ If you are fascinated by history, we recommend spending a day discovering Pompeii and Vesuvius. Strolling among the ancient Roman ruins, visiting the shops and frescoed houses, and then climbing up to the crater of the volcano is an experience that leaves a lasting impression. To make the tour even more special, you can add a visit to a workshop where cameos and corals are still crafted using traditional methods.

✅ Of course, the sea is the absolute star of the show on the Amalfi Coast. If you want to explore it at your leisure, a boat trip is the perfect choice. Departing directly from the pier in Positano, you will sail through hidden coves, sea caves and turquoise waters where diving is a real pleasure. It is also an ideal activity if you are travelling with children, who can enjoy the sea in total relaxation.

✅ If you have a little more time, we recommend visiting some of the most beautiful villages in the area. Praiano is enchanting at sunset, especially if you walk along the romantic Sentiero dell'Amore (Path of Love), while Conca dei Marini will surprise you with the Grotta dello Smeraldo and incredible views.
Amalfi, with its charming Arab-Norman cathedral, will captivate you with its lively squares and the scent of lemons filling the air. Ravello, nestled on a natural terrace, will leave you speechless thanks to the spectacular gardens of Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, where every corner looks like something out of a painting.
If you love discovering lesser-known and more authentic places, the village of Scala, the oldest on the coast, offers peace and unspoilt views.

✅ Don't forget that Positano is also a strategic point for excursions outside the coast. In less than an hour, you can reach Sorrento, perfect for a day of shopping, art and walks with views of the Gulf of Naples. And if you feel like venturing a little further afield, Capri and even Naples are within easy reach: the former awaits you with its sea stacks and exclusive boutiques, while the latter will captivate you with its infectious energy, unique flavours and the vibrant beauty of its streets.

🗓️ Events not to be missed

✅ Ferragosto Positanese: magic between the beach and the sky
In Positano, Ferragosto is not just a date on the calendar, it is a real village festival that involves everyone, from residents to curious travellers. From the first light of dawn, the town comes alive with joy: the beaches fill up, music spreads through the streets and the aromas of typical dishes invite you to taste the local cuisine. The Assumption of Mary is celebrated, a deeply felt holiday, but it is the night that becomes the real star.

When darkness falls, the sky above Positano lights up with spectacular fireworks that reflect on the calm waters, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. It is a moment of pure wonder, to be experienced with your nose in the air and your heart light: a simple, intense but absolutely memorable experience.

✅ The Deposition of Christ: an emotional ritual of Holy Week
If you are in Positano during Holy Week, don't miss the opportunity to witness the Deposition of Christ, one of the most moving religious celebrations on the Amalfi Coast. It all begins on Holy Thursday, when an evocative procession of hooded figures makes its way through the town's churches carrying a large cross, illuminated only by the flickering light of torches.

But the most powerful moment comes on Good Friday: at dusk, in profound silence, the dead Christ is gently taken down from the cross by the master of ceremonies, the only face uncovered among those present.
The sacred body is wrapped in a white veil and carried in procession through the narrow streets of the village, lit by thousands of candles and accompanied by ancient chants. Being part of it means immersing yourself in the most authentic spirituality of Positano and enjoying an intense experience that will stay with you forever.

✅ Luminaria di San Domenico: the festival of light in Praiano
If you love unusual atmospheres and plays of light, just a few kilometres from Positano, Praiano awaits you with the wonderful Luminaria di San Domenico. Every year, from 1 to 4 August, the village is transformed into a true visual spectacle: houses, terraces, stairways and domes are illuminated by thousands of candles, creating a timeless magic.

Legend has it that the mother of San Domenico dreamed of a dog with a lit torch in its mouth, ready to set the world on fire: a powerful symbol of faith and light. The heart of the event is Piazza San Gennaro, where over three thousand flames create spectacular artistic figures.
