🧭 How to reach

La Torretta’s strategic location in the centre of Minori makes it easily accessible: if you’re travelling by train or bus, you can reach the property comfortably from Salerno station using the frequent Sita services. Alternatively, you can opt for a picturesque ferry journey, taking in the beauty of the Amalfi Coast.
What’s more, you’re in a very convenient location to walk to all of Minori’s most interesting attractions.

In short, it’s very easy to get to, especially if you’re travelling by public transport.
To ensure your journey is comfortable and stress-free, we’d like to point out one small issue: the lack of parking spaces.
In this regard, if you’re travelling by car, we recommend booking a parking space in advance, so you can travel worry-free and with the assurance of a parking space: remember that finding a place to park can be difficult, especially if you’re visiting during the peak season, which runs from June to September.

Let’s take a closer look at how to reach your destination!

✅ If you’re travelling by public transport

Once you arrive at Naples Airport, you’ll need to get to the Central Station: you can do this by taking the ALIBUS buses or the affiliated taxi service.

🔹 From Naples Central Station, you have two options: a train (regional or Intercity) or a bus to Salerno (in Via Depretis, not far from the station): services are frequent and the journey time to your destination in both cases is no more than 50–60 minutes.

🔹 If, on the other hand, you land at Salerno Airport, you can choose between two options: the Salerno Airlink shuttle bus, perfect for reaching the city centre easily and cheaply. Alternatively, you can take a taxi, which is particularly convenient if you’ve had a long journey or are travelling with children.
Please note that taxis from Salerno Airport have fixed, discounted fares.

At this point, it is important to note that the Amalfi Coast does not have a railway line: the alternatives for travelling to and from the Coast or between the various towns are SITA buses or Travelmar ferries.
So, once you arrive at Salerno Station, you can travel on the SITA buses bound for Minori: they run approximately once an hour, except on public holidays, when the frequency is halved.

You can catch the bus at the stop outside the station, buying tickets at the newsagent’s by the exit or using the Unico app, which allows you to buy them directly from your smartphone.
The bus makes two stops in Minori: yours is the second one, coming from Salerno.

🔹 Ferry: from Salerno, you can take the ferry, a convenient and quick option that allows you to reach your destination without the risk of encountering traffic on the SS 163. The ferry ride takes about 50 minutes, which feels much shorter thanks to the pleasures of travelling by sea, allowing you to get straight into the holiday spirit whilst admiring the beauty of the Amalfi Coast from a truly privileged vantage point.

✅ If you travel by car

If you prefer to travel by car, follow the signs for Maiori. From Naples, you can take the A1 motorway and then follow the signs for the Amalfi Coast.

In this section, let’s take a look at what you can find just a stone’s throw from La Torretta.

📍 The Roman Maritime Villa

Less than a ten-minute walk from your accommodation, you’ll find the first unmissable attraction: the Roman Maritime Villa, which we also discuss in detail in this article.
Discovered somewhat by chance in 1932, the Roman Maritime Villa in Minori is a true archaeological gem that takes us back in time.
When it was built in the 1st century AD, it was a super-luxurious villa, a holiday home for the wealthiest Romans.
At the heart of the villa was the triclinium-nymphaeum, a large hall where magnificent banquets and lavish entertainments worthy of the Arabian Nights were held.
The rooms were decorated with beautiful frescoes and stucco work, traces of which still remain.

Don’t miss the spa area, perfect for relaxation: you can admire it during your visit.
In the antiquarium, you can see many ancient artefacts that tell the story of how the Romans lived.
Visiting the Villa di Minori will feel like stepping back in time, allowing you to experience first-hand the charm of a bygone era, which has remained intact despite the passage of time.

📍 The seafront and the beach

From your location, you are very close to the beach and the seafront, the lively and joyful heart of summer in Minori.
In addition to the four beach clubs, Minori also offers several public beaches, which are the ideal solution for those who do not particularly enjoy spending long periods under a parasol.

📍 The path to Ravello

Walking a few metres along the SS 163 towards Amalfi, you will find a flight of steps on your right with signs pointing to the town of Ravello.
This path, consisting mainly of steps alternating with short flat sections, leads you to Ravello, the City of Music: climbing at a slow and leisurely pace, you’ll enjoy a healthy walk, which will allow you to enjoy wonderful views and corners of absolute peace and tranquillity.
You will pass through the picturesque village of Torello, which seems suspended in time, and finally, with one last bit of effort, head towards Ravello: once you reach your destination, it will be like standing on a huge panoramic terrace, from which you can enjoy the sparkling blue spectacle of the Amalfi Coast.
The effort will be amply rewarded.
We recommend this pleasant walk during the spring or autumn months, when the weather is perfect for making these excursions truly enjoyable and relaxing.

If you’re staying in the area for a few days, you’ll certainly want to explore the other towns along the Amalfi Coast.
✅ Depending on how much time you have, we definitely recommend not missing out on the most iconic destinations, such as Amalfi, Ravello and Positano, which you can easily reach from here by land or by sea.

✅ However, if you have a few extra days, venture out to discover the most authentic villages: for example, the ancient village of Scala, the oldest on the Amalfi Coast, will amaze you with its scenic views, as well as some important treasures of historical and architectural significance.

✅ If you fancy adding a bit of excitement to your holiday, you could plan a slightly out-of-the-ordinary experience: if, for example, you love a bit of a adrenaline rush, we recommend a parasailing trip.

✅ Gusta Minori
One of Minori’s most famous events is, without a doubt, Gusta Minori: a festival that combines fine food and wine, culture and entertainment, transforming the town into a small open-air theatre.
In the central squares, the Villa Romana and other narrow streets of the town, dance, music and theatre performances are held, reflecting the theme chosen for that year’s edition.
Of course, there’s no lack of good food: with the participation of local restaurants, traditional dishes are usually on offer, allowing visitors to taste and discover the region’s traditional specialities.
The event usually takes place in the last week of August.
We recommend checking the dates on the event’s website, as they may vary.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

As true locals, here are a few tasty suggestions to make your stay even more exciting and fulfilling.

✅ Traditional liqueurs? Try those from Pasticceria Gambardella!
On Corso Vittorio Emanuele, about a five-minute walk from the seafront, you’ll find the historic Pasticceria Gambardella, with its cosy little terrace.
Here you can buy some excellent liqueurs to take home. We highly recommend the limoncello and the concerto (here’s more info).
If you’re looking for something a bit more intriguing, ask for the AraZen liqueur, made with orange and ginger: it’s very distinctive and tangy. Alternatively, try the Masaniello liqueur, made by macerating oranges: its sweet-and-sour flavour will win you over!

✅ Since you have a lovely terrace and a lovely kitchen, why not whip up a nice plate of ‘ndunderi?
If you want to make the most of the splendid view offered by La Torretta, why not enjoy a light dinner right on its terrace? And why not do so by preparing a traditional dish with your own hands?
Here’s what to do: head to Largo Solaio dei Pastai. Here you’ll find a small pasta shop. Ask for a generous portion of ‘ndunderi from Minori: this is a particular type of fresh pasta, vaguely resembling classic potato gnocchi, but differing in that the dough contains fresh ricotta and sometimes pecorino cheese. We discuss this in more detail in this article, which we’ve dedicated specifically to Minori’s handmade pasta.
Not sure how to serve them? A simple tomato sauce will be perfect. We traditionally eat them with a tomato sauce enriched with pieces of sausage.
As an alternative to ‘ndunderi, you can ask for the classic “ricci a mano”, another typical local delicacy.
