🗓️ Events not to be missed

If you happen to be in Amalfi at the right time, you may witness events that transform the city into an even more magical place. These are not just simple celebrations, but authentic experiences that reveal the soul of the area, through history, religion and popular tradition.
Here are three events that you should not miss if you are in the area.
Byzantine New Year
Every year, between the end of August and the beginning of September, Amalfi and Atrani go back in time to celebrate the ancient Byzantine New Year. According to the Eastern Empire calendar, this was when the legal and fiscal year officially began. The atmosphere is evocative: ladies, knights, drummers and flag-wavers invade the streets in a grand historical re-enactment that culminates in the coronation of the “Magister di Civiltà Amalfitana” (Master of Amalfi Civilisation). The town centre is transformed into a large medieval stage, with shows, parades and music, offering everyone – tourists and residents alike – an exciting immersion in the past.
Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics – pride and spectacle
When Amalfi hosts the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics, the city explodes with energy and a spectacular challenge begins between the four Italian maritime republics (Amalfi, Genoa, Pisa and Venice), which battle it out at sea aboard historic boats. But the regatta is only the highlight of an event that lasts several days, including parades in period costumes, cultural events and folklore. The last edition hosted in Amalfi took place in May 2025, but every time the event stops here, the city comes alive with history and passion.
Feast of St. Andrew – faith and spectacle in the heart of Amalfi
Twice a year, Amalfi gathers around its patron saint, Sant'Andrea. 27 June and 30 November are dates marked in red for the people of Amalfi: the town is decked out in its finery, but the most striking moment is the procession. The statue of the saint, carried on the shoulders of the faithful, descends the steps of the cathedral with power and majesty amid applause and emotion. The day ends with fireworks over the sea, music and religious rituals, in a perfect blend of spirituality and tradition. Even those who come from far away immediately sense that this is no ordinary festival: it is the heart of Amalfi beating strongly.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

Restaurant and swimming pool with breathtaking views just a stone's throw away
If you want to experience a romantic and unforgettable evening during your holiday in Amalfi, we recommend a visit to Le Nereidi. Located a few steps from the hotel, this restaurant offers breathtaking views of the Gulf, making it the ideal place for a candlelit dinner or an aperitif at sunset.
The 25-metre panoramic swimming pool with whirlpool is surrounded by lush gardens and Greek columns, creating an elegant and relaxing atmosphere. The poolside is furnished with tables and sofas, perfect for sipping a drink while admiring the coastal landscape.
Sweet break at the historic Pansa pastry shop
Don't miss the opportunity to visit this pastry shop institution: a stop at Pansa is much more than just a coffee break, it is an experience that will enrich your trip to Amalfi.
Pasticceria Pansa is famous for its Delizia al Limone, a soft and fragrant cake that embodies the essence of the lemons of the Amalfi Coast. But the offer does not stop there: you can enjoy Neapolitan Pastiera, chocolate Caprese, candied lemon peel and many other specialities prepared with high-quality ingredients and according to recipes handed down through generations.
The elegant setting, with period furnishings and gilded mirrors, creates a refined and welcoming atmosphere, ideal for relaxing. Whether you choose to sit at the outdoor tables, admiring the lively square, or settle inside, you will be immersed in a unique sensory experience.
Pasticceria Pansa is also recognised nationally and internationally: it has been included among the 100 excellences of Italy by Forbes and is part of the Locali Storici d'Italia (Historic Places of Italy).
