🧭 How to reach

Florida Residence is located along the picturesque Via Pasitea, in the upper district of Fornillo, one of the most panoramic and peaceful areas of Positano. Its location allows you to enjoy spectacular views of the village and the sea, while remaining just a few minutes' walk from the centre and the Spiaggia Grande. It is easily accessible by car, public transport or by sea, thanks to well-organised connections and the availability of private shuttle services.

If you are travelling by public transport

✅ If you are arriving by plane, you can choose between two airports: Naples Capodichino, the closest (about 60 km), or the new Salerno - Costa d'Amalfi Airport. From Naples, you can reach the central station with the Alibus and continue by train to Sorrento or Salerno. From both locations, you can then continue by bus (SITA Sud line), taxi or private transfer.

✅ If you land in Salerno, you can also take advantage of the Airlink connection to the train station, and from there choose whether to continue by sea or by road.

✅ From Salerno, if you decide to travel by sea, take advantage of the most scenic and relaxing option: from April to October, Travelmar ferries connect Salerno and Amalfi to Positano.

📣 You can book your ferry trip here!

Once you arrive at the pier, simply walk for about 10 minutes through the flower-filled streets of the town centre to reach the Florida Residence, or request a transfer or porter service, available on request.

If you are travelling by car:
🔹from the North, follow the A3 Naples-Salerno motorway, exit at Castellammare di Stabia and continue towards Positano along the panoramic SS163 road.

🔹From the South, follow the same road from Vietri sul Mare.

Once you reach the village, head down towards the centre: the Florida Residence is well signposted and has a free private car park, available upon reservation: a real bonus in this area, where parking spaces are rare and expensive.

🗺️ Things to see on your doorstep

📍 The Church of Santa Maria Assunta: the spiritual and visual symbol of the town

Not far from the Spiaggia Grande, stands a jewel that has enchanted visitors for centuries: the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, dedicated to the Black Madonna, protector of the village. With its majestic majolica dome, recognisable from every corner of the coast, this church is much more than just a religious building: it is the spiritual and visual emblem of the town.

Legend has it that a Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary landed on its shores during a storm, and from that moment on, it became a symbol of protection and devotion for sailors.
Inside, the silence inspires contemplation: the golden altar, the richly decorated naves and the intimate atmosphere tell of an ancient faith that is still alive today in every celebration. Visiting this church also means immersing yourself in the most authentic tradition of Positano, between the sacred and the legendary, between art and popular identity.

It is an essential stop for those who want to capture the soul of the village, not just its external beauty.

📍 The MAR – Roman Archaeological Museum: a journey through time beneath Positano

Beneath the picturesque alleys of Positano, hidden beneath the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, lies an unexpected treasure: the Roman Archaeological Museum, known as MAR.
Here, time stands still and takes you back to the Roman Empire, thanks to the perfectly preserved remains of a sumptuous patrician villa buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. The museum tour is a truly immersive experience: you walk among mosaic floors, vibrant frescoes and domestic settings that tell the story of a splendid era.
Soft lighting, ambient sounds and multimedia displays make the visit exciting and accessible to all. This museum is not just an archaeological site: it is an opportunity to go beyond the lively worldliness of this glamorous village and discover the soul of an ancient, cultured and refined Positano. If you love art, history and unusual discoveries, the MAR is a real hidden gem not to be missed.

📍 The centre of Positano: boutiques, views and dreamlike atmospheres

Strolling through the historic centre of Positano is like walking through a living postcard. Among flower-filled stairways, pastel-coloured houses and alleys scented with lemon and salt, every step is an invitation to wonder. The heart of the town lies between Via dei Mulini and Via Cristoforo Colombo, where elegant linen boutiques, art galleries, craft workshops and small cafés with sea views follow one another.

Here, every corner is designed to surprise: a hidden terrace, a shop displaying handmade sandals, a decorated ceramic piece that captures the sunlight.

The centre is also the perfect place to savour the slow pace of coastal life: between an espresso and a lemon delight, you can breathe in that unique combination of elegance and simplicity that has made Positano famous throughout the world. It's not just shopping: it's a Mediterranean lifestyle, to be enjoyed with lightness, wonder and eyes full of colour.

And what's more, you're close to:
📍 Fornillo Beach welcomes you with its more secluded charm. Less crowded than Spiaggia Grande, it is the perfect retreat for those seeking relaxation and crystal-clear sea;
📍 the village of Nocelle: perched at over 400 metres above sea level, it is the starting (or finishing) point of the famous Path of the Gods. From here, the view of the coast is simply unforgettable.
📍 The Saracen Towers of Positano: these ancient defensive structures, scattered along the coast, tell of a past of raids and resistance. Today, they are silent symbols standing out against the sea, perfect for an epic excursion.

🎉 Things to do nearby

Staying in Positano offers a precious opportunity: to experience the heart of the Amalfi Coast with the freedom to explore a different wonder every day.

✅ Just a few kilometres away, you will discover a constellation of villages, panoramas and authentic experiences that will make your stay even richer and more surprising. Among the most fascinating excursions, the Path of the Gods is definitely a must: this famous hiking trail starts in Bomerano, a hamlet of Agerola, and winds along the crest of the Lattari mountains to Nocelle, offering breathtaking views ranging from the Gulf of Salerno to the Li Galli islands.

If you want to enjoy this experience without any worries, you can book a guided excursion departing directly from Positano, often combined with lunch in a panoramic trattoria in the village of Nocelle, where the view will take your breath away and the dishes will reveal the most authentic flavours of the local tradition.

✅ If, on the other hand, you want a more relaxing but equally spectacular day, nothing beats a boat trip along the coast. Organised tours depart daily from the pier in Positano, taking you to discover sea caves, hidden coves and beaches that can only be reached by sea. You can swim in crystal clear waters, enjoy the sun in total tranquillity and perhaps sip a drink on board while the landscape slowly and beautifully passes before your eyes: one of the most authentic and evocative ways to experience the sea of the Amalfi Coast, just like the locals do on their days off.

✅ If, on the other hand, you want to broaden your cultural horizons, we recommend booking an excursion to Pompeii and Vesuvius: in a single day, you can walk among the intact remains of the Roman city buried by the eruption of 79 AD, admiring frescoes, villas and ancient temples, then climb up to the crater of the volcano and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Gulf of Naples: a powerful and complete experience that combines history, nature and extraordinarily evocative landscapes.

✅ If you stay a few days longer, take advantage of the proximity to organise a visit to Sorrento, which can be reached in about 40 minutes by car or ferry: this elegant and lively town is famous for its citrus scents, narrow streets teeming with shops and its charm suspended between the sea and the cliffs.
And then there is Capri, which you can reach every day by ferry directly from Positano: the island is a daydream come true, with its Faraglioni rocks emerging from the sea, the famous Blue Grotto, the Gardens of Augustus, elegant boutiques and panoramic terraces scented with lemon. A day here is a break of absolute beauty.

✅ Finally, don't forget to explore the lesser-known gems of the Amalfi Coast: Praiano, with its intimate atmosphere and glowing sunsets, is perfect for a stroll at dusk or a romantic dinner by the sea.

Not far away, Furore hides a fjord nestled among the rocks and an artistic village covered with murals, perfect if you love authentic and photogenic places. Conca dei Marini, on the other hand, is a delicious and fascinating stop: home to the famous sfogliatella Santa Rosa, it also houses the magical Grotta dello Smeraldo, a natural jewel where the light filters through and paints the water in a thousand shades. If you love peace and quiet, Scala – the oldest village on the coast – is the perfect choice: far from the tourist crowds, it offers silence, green views and an authenticity that slowly wins you over.

🗓️ Events not to be missed

✅ 15 August in Positano: faith, sea and unforgettable fireworks
On 15 August, Positano dresses up to celebrate its patron saint, the Madonna Assunta, in an event that blends spirituality, tradition and pure visual wonder. From early morning, the bells ring out in celebration, while in the late afternoon, the solemn mass is preceded by a moment of collective prayer, the “Cento Croci, Cento Ave Maria”.
Then, the evening procession winds its way through the streets decorated with flowers and lanterns, with the scent of incense in the air and an atmosphere of intense participation. But the real magic comes at midnight, when the sky above the bay explodes in a breathtaking fireworks show, reflected dancing among the boats bobbing in the darkness.
To truly experience it to the fullest, many choose an evening boat tour to Maiori, where the twin festival of Santa Maria a Mare is celebrated. Between the glitter of the sea and the bright explosions, this night becomes pure magic: an experience that remains etched in your eyes and heart.

✅ Good Friday in Positano – A ritual of light, silence and devotion
During Holy Week, Positano gathers for one of the most moving religious rituals on the Amalfi Coast: the Descent of Christ. On Thursday evening, the cross is carried in procession through the town by hooded figures, accompanied by torches and a silence that amplifies every step. But it is on Friday, around 7 p.m., that the most intense symbolic gesture takes place: the body of Christ is gently removed from the cross in a scene charged with pathos, where only the face of the master of ceremonies remains uncovered. The atmosphere is dense and suspended. Then the procession sets off again, with Christ wrapped in a white veil, while hundreds of candles flicker along the steps and ancient streets. Traditional songs, deep and solemn, accompany the faithful and visitors on a journey of reflection and spirituality: an authentic experience that touches the soul even of those who are not devout.
Not to be missed if you visit Positano during Easter.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

A tip for an informal but tasteful lunch or dinner: Il Fornillo
Just 50 metres from Florida Residence, Il Fornillo is a delightful gastronomic oasis, perfect if you want to enjoy the authentic flavours of the Amalfi Coast in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Located along the scenic Via Pasitea, the restaurant offers Mediterranean cuisine that emphasises local ingredients, with a particular focus on fresh fish and seasonal produce.
Among the most popular dishes are scialatielli ai frutti di mare (seafood pasta), tuna tartare and grilled octopus, all prepared with simplicity and care. The pizzas are also worth mentioning, fragrant and light, ideal for a more informal dinner. The service is friendly and attentive, and the setting, with its outdoor tables overlooking the sea, makes every meal a pleasant experience, from lunch at sunset to dinner under the stars.
Whether you are a couple, a family or a group of friends, Il Fornillo is the ideal choice for a tasty and authentic break, easily reachable on foot from your accommodation. An address to note in your diary to savour Positano bite after bite.

✅ Romantic aperitif? We recommend Franco's Bar
Franco's Bar is the perfect destination for an aperitif in style, suspended between the sea and the sky. This elegant outdoor lounge, built where a car park once stood, is now a true contemporary-baroque gem, with furnishings designed down to the smallest detail: hand-painted tables, lamps inspired by marine shapes and even an artistic yellow fountain that immediately catches the eye. Imagine sitting here just before sunset, with a cocktail in your hand—a classic Old Fashioned or a refreshing French 75 served in elegant Venetian glassware—as the sun paints the sky with golden hues.
The bar is the ideal place if you love charm without complications: no reservations, just take a seat and let yourself be guided by the creativity of the bartenders. Franco's Bar is not just about drinks, it's about atmosphere: a kaleidoscope of design, aesthetic taste and a breathtaking view of the bay of Positano. Perfect for a break after a swim or a romantic evening, it is a must for experiencing Positano from an exclusive perspective, enjoying the sweetness of doing nothing in an unforgettable setting. If you can't say no to a quality aperitif that is refined yet sincere, this place will undoubtedly become your favourite spot at sunset.
