All rooms offer a private bathroom, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, satellite TV, minibar and, in many cases, a private balcony or terrace with enchanting views of the sea or the picturesque streets of Positano.

🗺️ Things to see on your doorstep

Staying at Villa La Tartana means not only sleeping in the heart of Positano, but also being able to set off every day to discover unique wonders just a few steps from your base – experiences that tell the story, spirituality and nature of this extraordinary place.

📍 The Church of Santa Maria Assunta

The Church of Santa Maria Assunta is the first stop you cannot miss: its famous majolica dome shines among the houses like a Mediterranean lighthouse, attracting glances and photographs from every corner of the village. Inside, this church houses the splendid Byzantine icon of the Black Madonna – protector of Positano – and a charm suspended between devotion and legend. Walking through the square in front of it, breathing in the air steeped in history and tradition and attending ceremonies will make you feel part of the community, as if you were experiencing Positano in its most authentic and intense moments.
Here you will find an interesting insight into this iconic building.

📍 The Roman Archaeological Museum (MAR)

From the sacred to the profound: just below the church is the Roman Archaeological Museum (MAR), housed in a villa dating back to the 1st century BC, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Here you can walk on transparent footbridges, admiring frescoed triclinia in the typical Pompeian style, mosaic floors and precious medieval crypts, with artefacts recovered during excavations. The MAR is not just a museum: it is a journey through time, bringing the ancient world into dialogue with the liveliness of the modern village, offering you a timeless experience between past and present.

📍 The rural village of Nocelle

Climb up to Nocelle, a village suspended about 440 metres above the sea, which can be reached either by a scenic walk or by shuttle bus. This enchanted area, surrounded by lemon groves and Mediterranean vegetation, offers a priceless view of Positano, Capri and the entire coastline. It is an opportunity to breathe pure air, walk among nature and history, and perhaps stop for lunch with a breathtaking view. Nocelle is also the starting point for the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), a spectacular trek that winds its way through rocky ridges and crests, offering suspended views, legends, light and the scent of the sea.

What's more, you are close to:
📍 Fornillo Beach: less than a five-minute walk away, this cove is more secluded than Spiaggia Grande and offers shade, tranquillity and crystal-clear waters; perfect for relaxing between excursions.
📍 Arienzo Beach: “the beach of 300 steps” can be reached via a characteristic staircase surrounded by greenery. Here you will find fine sand, clear waters and an intimate atmosphere – ideal for a refreshing swim away from the crowds.
📍 Saracen towers of Positano: scattered along the coastline, these ancient watchtowers bear witness to a rich past of defence and sighting. Today, the ruins – such as the Torre Trasìta and the Torre di Fornillo – offer panoramic views, ancient stories and perfect vantage points for evocative photos of the sea and the coast.

🎉 Things to do nearby

If you stay in Positano, you will be lucky enough to find yourself in the centre of one of the most fascinating areas of Italy: not only an iconic postcard village, but also a perfect starting point for discovering nearby villages, lesser-known corners and authentic experiences that will enrich every day of your trip.

✅ Start by exploring the villages closest to Positano, easily accessible by car, scooter, bus or ferry. Among these, Praiano is a must-see if you love authentic and less crowded places: walk along the Sentiero dell'Amore (Path of Love) at sunset or relax in its most intimate coves. A few kilometres further on, you will find Furore, famous for its spectacular fjord nestled between the rocks.
Heading down the coast, stop off at Conca dei Marini, a small village suspended between the sky and the sea, famous for two treasures: the sfogliatella Santa Rosa, which originated here, and the Grotta dello Smeraldo, a sea cave with incredibly turquoise waters, which can be visited by boat or by lift from the rocky ridge.

Don't miss a visit to Amalfi, with its Arab-Norman cathedral, the Cloister of Paradise and narrow streets teeming with life, scents and shops. And if you're in the mood for suspended beauty, climb up to Ravello, nestled on a natural terrace with breathtaking views: Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo are masterpieces of gardens and vistas.
If you are looking for a more intimate atmosphere, consider less frequented but charming villages such as Scala, the oldest on the coast. Here you can stroll leisurely through quiet alleys, ancient churches and cultivated terraces, discovering the most intimate and authentic side of this area.
If you have more time, you can venture a little further afield and spend a day visiting some unmissable destinations in the surrounding area. Sorrento, for example, is easily reached in about 40 minutes by car or bus: ideal for a day spent enjoying views of the Gulf of Naples, boutiques, restaurants and the scent of citrus fruits.

✅ Alternatively, treat yourself to an excursion to the island of Capri: ferries depart daily from Positano, and in just under an hour you can explore the famous Piazzetta, the Blue Grotto and the Faraglioni, or relax in gardens and panoramic walks.
Finally, for those who want to immerse themselves in urban culture, Naples is about an hour's train ride from Sorrento: a day trip will allow you to experience the city's art, street food, markets and overwhelming Neapolitan vitality.

✅ During your stay, there is no shortage of unique experiences to enjoy, many of which start directly from Positano. One of the most popular is the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods), a scenic trek connecting Agerola (Bomerano) to Nocelle, with spectacular views of the sea and the opportunity to stop for delicious snacks in small local trattorias.

✅ For a journey back in time, organise a visit to Pompeii and Vesuvius: explore the ruins of the ancient Roman city accompanied by an expert guide, then climb up to the crater of the volcano for an unparalleled view of the entire gulf. Some tours also include a stop at artisan workshops, where cameos and corals are worked using traditional techniques.

✅ And, of course, you can't miss the sea. Set off on a boat trip from Positano's Spiaggia Grande: among sea caves, hidden coves and crystal-clear waters, you will experience the Amalfi Coast from the most privileged vantage point.
Whatever your idea of a trip – adventurous, cultural, relaxing or romantic – in Positano and its surroundings you will always find something that speaks to your idea of beauty.

🗓️ Events not to be missed

✅ Ferragosto in Positano: a night of light and wonder
Every 15 August, Positano is transformed into a dreamlike setting, where the sacred and the profane intertwine in a single, exciting celebration. The feast of the Assumption, patron saint of the city, is one of the most eagerly awaited events of the summer. From early morning, the beaches are filled with families and travellers, sunbathing, enjoying lunch with a sea view and basking in the joyful atmosphere. But it is at dusk that the magic takes over: the solemn mass and procession through the streets of the village set the stage for the real highlight of the evening. At midnight sharp, the sky above the bay explodes in a blaze of fireworks, reflected in the sea and hundreds of moored boats, creating a play of lights that enchants everyone who witnesses it. An unmissable event that every year wins the hearts of those lucky enough to experience it live – perhaps from a terrace overlooking the sea or from a private boat under the stars.

✅ The Unnailing of Christ: faith and silence along the narrow streets
During Holy Week, Positano reveals its most spiritual and intense side with a ritual of profound symbolic value: the Unnailing of Christ, celebrated on Good Friday. The ritual begins on Thursday evening with an evocative procession of hooded figures carrying a large cross between the churches, accompanied only by torches and silence. But it is on Friday evening that everything comes together in a moment of rare intensity: the Christ is gently removed from the cross by the master of ceremonies, the only person with his face uncovered, using a hammer and pincers in a sacred and ancient gesture. The body, wrapped in a white veil, is then carried in procession through the narrow streets of the village, amid a thousand lit candles, solemn songs and an atmosphere suspended in time. If you visit Positano during Easter, don't miss this unique opportunity to immerse yourself in its deepest soul, experiencing an authentic and touching tradition.

✅ The Luminarie di San Domenico: night-time magic in Praiano
A few kilometres from Positano, Praiano lights up the August nights with one of the most spectacular events on the Amalfi Coast: the Luminarie di San Domenico. For about a week, the main square and streets of the historic centre are filled with torches, candles and light installations handmade by the villagers, creating a kaleidoscope of lights that makes the atmosphere surreal. The highlight is on 4 August, when the saint is celebrated with live music, artistic performances and an incredible simultaneous lighting of thousands of lights. The small square in front of the church of San Gennaro becomes a catwalk of light, while the sea sparkles in the distance under a starry sky. The event is a real feast for the eyes and the soul, and is the perfect opportunity to visit one of the most authentic and least crowded villages on the coast, enjoying an intimate and engaging experience that will remain in your heart.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

✅ La Tagliata: perfect if you want to enjoy a lunch steeped in the authenticity of the past
Imagine dining where nature meets passion: La Tagliata is perched on panoramic terraces among oak and olive trees, with views stretching as far as the eye can see along the Amalfi Coast. Here, every dish tells a story of freshness and tradition, thanks to ingredients freshly picked from the farm's vegetable garden.

The beef tagliata – tender, succulent and prepared in a family atmosphere – is accompanied by seasonal side dishes, crisp and flavourful vegetables, the fruit of direct contact with the land. The pace is that of authentic country life: savouring four generous courses while sitting under the starry sky is an experience that nourishes both body and soul.

And it's not just about the food: La Tagliata is a working farm. You can stroll through the vegetable garden, pick fresh vegetables and, if you wish, try your hand at farming, such as collecting eggs from the henhouse. It is a journey to the origins of food, a complete sensory experience where the dish takes on flavour and meaning

✅ Misaki Sushi: the East meets the breathtaking landscapes of the Amalfi Coast
If you want to be daring and surprise your taste buds on the Amalfi Coast, Misaki Sushi is the most refined alternative. Located along Via Pasitea, it brings a touch of modern elegance to the pastel-coloured houses of Positano.

The contemporary design blends with the welcoming atmosphere of the village, and the menu offers a balanced selection of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi, creative uramaki, fragrant temaki and delicious vegetarian options. There are also gourmet treats such as stuffed bao buns, crispy edamame and sophisticated combinations designed to surprise.
It is the perfect choice if you want a sophisticated, romantic or simply different evening without straying too far from the Mediterranean essence of the place.

✅ Adamo ed Eva: elegance and breathtaking views
Just a few steps from the centre, Adamo ed Eva, in the heart of the Hotel Eden Roc (Via G. Marconi 108), is a gem with a panoramic terrace overlooking Positano and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Here, Mediterranean cuisine comes to life with the freshest ingredients, including fish of the day and homemade pasta: the spaghettone with lemon and tuna has already become an iconic dish, a perfect balance between simplicity and taste.

This restaurant combines gastronomic refinement and elegant design, with an atmosphere that invites you to enjoy a refined and intimate experience.
The atmosphere is sophisticated yet relaxed: well-spaced tables, soft lighting and professional yet warm service.

It is the ideal place for an aperitif at sunset, a dinner for two or a special occasion. And if you are looking for a gourmet experience with a view, Adamo ed Eva is the perfect choice: every bite is accompanied by a dreamlike panorama, transforming a simple meal into a moment to remember.
