Le Nereidi welcomes you at Via Marconi 266, in a quiet and panoramic location, perfect for those seeking a dream view of the sea and the village without sacrificing proximity to the centre of Positano. From here, you can reach the town centre in about 10-15 minutes on foot, following the characteristic alleys and flower-filled stairways. The property does not have private parking, so we strongly recommend booking a parking space in advance at a secure car park, such as Garage Di Gennaro or Parcheggio Mandara, both located a few minutes from the centre.

✅ If you arrive by plane
If you land at Naples Capodichino Airport, you can reach Positano in several ways.
✅ The easiest option is to book a direct private transfer, which will take you to your destination in about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Alternatively, take the Alibus (every 15–20 minutes) to the Central Station, from where you can:
🔹 take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento (about 1 hour and 10 minutes), then continue by SITA Sud bus to Positano (45–60 minutes);
or take a direct bus operated by Marozzi or FlixBus from Naples to Positano (seasonal service).
🔹From Sorrento, between April and October, you can also take the ferry to Positano: it is convenient, scenic and enjoyable, especially if you are travelling light.
✅ If you land at the new Salerno – Costa d'Amalfi airport reach the city centre with the Airlink service (direct bus to the train station). From there you can continue:
🔹 by Travelmar ferry to Positano (seasonal, from April to October, with a stop in Amalfi);
🔹 by SITA Sud bus to Amalfi, then change for Positano. Here you will find all the updated Sita timetables.
🔹 Or book a private transfer for the most direct and convenient solution.
✅ If you arrive by car
🔹 From the North (Naples, Rome), take the A3 Naples–Salerno motorway, exit at Castellammare di Stabia, and continue towards Sorrento along the SS145. Shortly after, take the SS163 Amalfitana, one of the most scenic roads in Italy, which will take you to Positano.
🔹 From the South (Salerno), follow the A3 to Vietri sul Mare, then continue along the SS163 through the charming villages of Cetara, Maiori, Amalfi and Praiano.
Once you arrive in Positano, leave your car in a private car park (we recommend Garage Di Gennaro or Mandara) and walk to Le Nereidi in about 12-15 minutes, climbing among picturesque views and the scent of lemons.
✅ If you choose the ferry
The ferry is the most scenic and relaxing way to get to Positano. During the summer season (April to October), you can board from Naples, Sorrento, Salerno or Amalfi thanks to the fast connections operated by Travelmar, Alilauro and Positano Jet. Once you disembark at the pier in Positano, you can choose to walk up to Via Marconi or use the porter service or a local transfer to the entrance of Le Nereidi.

In the heart of Positano, the Church of Santa Maria Assunta is the spiritual and visual symbol of the village. Its colourful majolica dome dominates the coastal landscape and catches the eye of anyone arriving from the sea. The church is home to centuries of history and legend. It is said that an ancient icon of the Madonna, originating in the East, “chose” this place to remain: during a storm at sea, the ship carrying it was stopped by a mysterious force until the sailors heard the voice of the Madonna whispering “Posa, posa” (stop, stop), thus giving rise to the name of the village and the construction of the sanctuary.
The interior is a triumph of sacred art: three naves divided by ancient columns, frescoes, wooden works and a high altar that houses the Byzantine icon of the Black Madonna. Beneath the church, a restored crypt and archaeological remains reveal the presence of an ancient Roman villa, on which the religious building was constructed.
Visiting this church means travelling through time, history and spirituality: it is the beating heart of Positano, where the sacred and the profane merge, where religious rituals – such as the Feast of the Assumption on 15 August – enliven the square, and where the silence of prayer is accompanied by the gentle sound of the sea.
A few steps separate the Church of the Assumption from one of Positano's lesser-known treasures: the Roman Archaeological Museum, better known as MAR. Located beneath the church's oratory, this extraordinary site houses the remains of a sumptuous 1st-century BC Roman villa, buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Through suspended glass walkways, you can walk above original frescoes, decorated floors and private rooms from the Roman era, including a refined triclinium frescoed with floral and marine motifs. Each room is accompanied by soft lighting and multimedia panels that will help you understand the luxurious life that was once led in these elite residences.
The tour ends in an evocative medieval crypt, testimony to the historical and religious stratification of the place.
Positano is not just postcard views and vertical architecture: it also offers crystal-clear sea, spectacular cliffs and unforgettable beaches.
The most famous is undoubtedly Spiaggia Grande, the seaside heart of the town. With its colourful beach establishments, seafront restaurants and direct views of the church and houses perched on the rocks, it is the ideal place for those seeking comfort, amenities and a central location.
A few minutes' walk along a scenic path takes you to Spiaggia di Fornillo: more intimate, less crowded and loved by locals for its relaxed atmosphere and crystal-clear sea. If you love more secluded places, Arienzo Beach is a gem that can be reached via a staircase surrounded by nature or by sea. Here, the sun exposure is perfect until late afternoon, and the environment is ideal for those seeking a quiet but charming corner.
Finally, the tiny and enchanting Laurito Beach, nestled among the rocks and accessible via a short descent or by small boat, is the perfect choice for a dip away from the crowds and lunch with a view.

When you think of Positano, it's easy to imagine a dream holiday filled with breathtaking views, colourful boutiques and fiery sunsets. But this corner of the coast is also the ideal starting point to go beyond the postcard and discover the many facets that make this land unique.
If you really want to savour the Amalfi Coast, there is only one piece of advice: explore. Just a few kilometres away, you will find yourself in completely different settings, where history, authenticity and beauty coexist in perfect harmony.
✅ Short on time? Go for the classics.
Amalfi, with its monumental cathedral and narrow streets filled with fragrances, or Ravello, which seems suspended between the sky and the sea, with fairytale gardens and a silence that speaks volumes.
But if you are staying longer, that's when the fun really begins: you can let yourself be surprised by more secluded places that are full of character. Like Praiano, where you can enjoy an aperitif while watching the sun set behind Capri. Or Conca dei Marini, with its emerald waters and famous desserts. Or Scala, the oldest village on the coast, and its hamlet Pontone, surrounded by greenery and perfect for truly slowing down. And then there are the coastal gems such as Minori, Maiori and Cetara: authentic, traditional villages where everyday life meets centuries-old traditions.
✅ If you have more than five days, expand your horizons: Positano is well connected and offers a thousand possibilities for a day trip. Naples will overwhelm you with its visceral energy, art, strong flavours and unforgettable contrasts. Sorrento is more composed, elegant, very close by and perfect for a walk with a sea view. If you love history you can touch, visit Pompeii and then climb Mount Vesuvius: the view from the top is a sight worth every step.
✅ And if you love being surrounded by nature and panoramic views, the Amalfi Coast has some extraordinary experiences in store for you. The Path of the Gods, which leads from Agerola to Nocelle, is a walk suspended between sky and sea that will leave you breathless. The Valle delle Ferriere, on the other hand, is a journey into the green heart of the Amalfi Coast, among waterfalls, ruins and lush vegetation.
✅ Finally, if you are looking for something authentic, immerse yourself in an experience in touch with tradition: a cooking class in a farmhouse in Amalfi or a visit to a vineyard in the hills of Tramonti, where time has the flavour of good wine and family stories.
Are you more adventurous and active? In Amalfi, you can book a parasailing flight the perfect experience for a memorable moment with your loved one!
✅ Ferragosto in Positano
The village prepares itself from early morning with a lively atmosphere of religious celebrations, stalls, live music and the scents of the sea and local cuisine.
But it is when night falls that the magic really comes to life.
At midnight, the sky is transformed into an enchanted stage: explosions of light, colours and reflections dance on the water in one of the most fascinating fireworks displays on the Amalfi Coast. Experiencing it from the beach, with your feet in the sand and your gaze turned towards the sea, is thrilling.
If you are looking for an even more evocative experience, you can board a boat and enjoy the fireworks from the open sea: a mini night cruise amid dense silence, gentle waves and toasts under the stars, to admire, once again, Positano in all its beauty, suspended between the sacred and the profane, tradition and enchantment.
✅ The Deposition of Christ
The Deposition of Christ on Good Friday is one of the most moving rituals of Holy Week. It is not just a religious ceremony, but an authentic collective journey into silence, light and memory.
At sunset, the village goes dark and is lit by candles and torches: electric lights give way to an ancient glow, guiding the procession of hooded figures dressed in white and enveloped by the deep sound of songs and prayers.
During the evening, after the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Thursday, the procession passes through Positano on a journey that lasts until the following day. However, the most intense moment comes in the late afternoon of Friday, when, in the tense silence of the square, Christ is taken down from the cross with a solemn gesture, accompanied by the sharp blows of a hammer on wood.
An ancient, powerful, symbolic gesture.
The Christ, wrapped in a shroud, is then carried in procession through the narrow streets, amid flickering lights and an atmosphere thick with spirituality. It is a ritual that leaves its mark, capable of speaking to the hearts of even those who do not belong to the tradition, and which every year renews the deep bond between the community and its faith.
✅ Collina Bakery: the perfect break at any time of day
In the heart of Positano, Collina Bakery is the ideal retreat for a delicious break. Whether you fancy a fragrant breakfast, a quick lunch or an afternoon treat, here you will find everything you need to recharge your batteries. From freshly baked croissants to gourmet sandwiches, creamy coffees and fresh juices, every item on the menu is carefully prepared and delicious. The quick and friendly service also makes it perfect for those passing through or about to leave for an excursion. Simple, authentic and always delicious.
✅ Looking for an elegant aperitif with a breathtaking view? Franco's Bar is the place to go!
For a moment of pure visual and sensory pleasure, Franco's Bar is a must. This open-air lounge offers one of the most spectacular terraces in Positano: overlooking the sea, it is the perfect place to sip a drink at sunset, surrounded by an elegant, relaxed atmosphere and refined design. The cocktails are original, the details refined, the view unparalleled. Whether it's a romantic toast or a get-together with friends, every aperitif here becomes a memorable experience.
