This ancient route, once vital for the lemon business, winds its way through cultivated terraces and offers breathtaking views of the sea. Every step along the trail is an opportunity to discover the history, culture and nature of this unique land.
You’ll admire the lemon groves, a symbol of the Amalfi Coast, and breathe in the intense aroma of citrus fruits. You’ll also have the chance to meet local lemon growers and discover the secrets of cultivating this precious fruit.
📍 Walk to Maiori
As you walk along the Path of the lemons, you’ll easily reach the town of Maiori, a lively hub on the Amalfi Coast, which will amaze and charm you with its many bars and restaurants and the little shops in its town centre.
Along the way, stop to admire the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria a Mare
An architectural gem well worth a thorough visit. Situated in a position overlooking the town of Maiori, it is a landmark for visitors walking the famous Lemon Trail.
The interior of the Collegiate Church is a feast of art and history, with frescoes, sculptures and stuccoes that bear witness to centuries of popular devotion. The majolica-tiled dome, a symbol of the city, is a landmark visible from afar, whilst the monumental organ, with its 1,700 pipes, enchants visitors with its melodies.
The Collegiate Church of Santa Maria a Mare is not only a place of worship but also a meeting place for the local community, where important religious and traditional events are celebrated, such as the feast of the patron saint, which takes place on 15 August.

📍 In the village of Torre, don’t miss the Church of San Michele Arcangelo
This church is the beating heart of the village, is a historical and artistic gem well worth a visit. Its origins are lost in the mists of time, but we know it already existed in the 10th century. The current building, the result of numerous restorations and extensions, retains a simple and harmonious architecture that blends perfectly into the surrounding landscape. Inside, frescoes and sculptures recount centuries of popular devotion, whilst the 18th-century organ enchants with its melodies.
The church is closely linked to village life and local traditions, such as the patron saint’s festival dedicated to St Michael the Archangel.
