🗺️ Things to see on your doorstep

You are practically in the centre of Maiori. From here you can do everything you want, without having to make too much effort.
Here are some interesting attractions in the immediate vicinity:

📍Salicerchie beach

Definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in the area. Locals call it ‘Baia Verde’ or ‘Acquachiara’ because the water here is crystal clear.

If you choose this facility for your stay on the Amalfi Coast, you can easily reach it on foot: just walk along the promenade and continue along the state road 163 Amalfitana. Shortly after the Torre Normanna Restaurant, you will find a long flight of stairs: walk down its 160 steps and you will find yourself on this small stretch of beach.

We advise you to reach the beach early in the morning, both to avoid walking during the hottest hours, and to find it uncrowded: it is a beach that is also popular with locals, so it is best to plan ahead.

📍The Gardens of Palazzo Mezzacapo

Since you are not far from Corso Reginna in Maiori, you can also visit the Gardens of Palazzo Mezzacapo, a true piece of Maiori history.

These gardens were once part of an ancient ecclesiastical property and have witnessed centuries of history and transformation. Here, where lemons were once cultivated and wheat was milled, today you can stroll among the flowerbeds, trying to play with your imagination, fantasising about life in this noble palace.

The Maltese cross shape of the garden, a tribute to the Order to which the Mezzacapo family belonged, is just one of the many details that make this place unique.

📍The exhibition of nativity scenes at the Church of San Francesco

If the period of your trip coincides with the Christmas festivities, perhaps because you are taking the opportunity to also visit the Luci d'artista in Salerno, you should not miss the Nativity exhibition at the Church of San Francesco, located in front of the seafront, just before the tourist harbour.

You are also close to:
📍Minori, which you can reach on foot in about 15/20 minutes. Perhaps you can treat yourself to some desserts by the famous pastry chef Sal De Riso.
📍The Path of the lemons, which connects Minori and Maiori: a splendid walk in the silence and pleasantness of the Mediterranean scrub.
📍The Collegiate Church of Santa Maria a Mare, which you will find along the way if you decide to visit the Sentiero dei Limoni.
📍Santa Maria de Olearia: a fascinating medieval abbey, of which you can still admire some frescoes.

🗓️ Events not to be missed

Your holiday in Maiori promises to be unforgettable, especially if you are lucky enough to coincide with one of the many events that enliven the town throughout the year.

✅ If you visit Maiori on Ferragosto, get ready for a unique experience! The festival in honour of Santa Maria a Mare, the town's patron saint, is an unmissable event that involves the entire community. Images, sounds and colours come together in a magical atmosphere, culminating in a marvellous fireworks display that lights up the night sky.

✅ If, on the other hand, you are in town during Carnival time, don't miss the Gran Carnevale di Maiori (Great Carnival of Maiori): an explosion of colours, music and fun that involves adults and children alike. Allegorical floats, masks and parades animate the streets of the city, creating a joyful and festive atmosphere.

Moreover, during the summer, the Maiori Tourist Port becomes the stage for numerous events: concerts, exhibitions, tastings and theme parties: there is always something new to discover!

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

As good locals, here are a few delicious suggestions to make your stay unique.

Try the lemon sighs and almond pastries from Pasticceria Trieste
The ‘Sospiri al Limone’ (Lemon Sighs) are sweets that you can only taste here: an interweaving of light sponge cake, sfusato cream and lemon-scented icing.

The ‘pastarelle alle mandorle’, (almond pastries), on the other hand, are a traditional Italian delicacy and you will find excellent ones in this pastry shop. Trust us!

If at the end of dinner, they offer you a shot of "concerto", don't say no
Concerto is a typical liqueur of the Amalfi Coast: you will hardly taste it anywhere else. It is a mix of aromatic herbs, spices, barley and coffee, which give life to a very sweet and particularly dense rosolio that closes the meal beautifully. Taste it and then let us know!

✅ If you want to go really typical, try the ‘panino cu a’ mevza'.
It is part of the typical Maiorese street food and you are sure to read the name of this dish on some sign at the entrance to some rotisserie or sandwich shop, especially around mid-August.

It is a sandwich stuffed with spleen cooked in vinegar, to which lots of parsley, garlic and chilli pepper are added.
It is not a dish for everyone, but if you like it, it is love without end. Guaranteed by the locals.
