🧭 How to reach

Casa Dolce Casa Ravello is located in a truly convenient and strategic position, in Via della Repubblica, just a few minutes' walk from the historic centre and the main attractions of Ravello, such as the Duomo and Villa Rufolo. Whatever your starting point, we will guide you here step by step so you can arrive without stress.

✅ If you are travelling by public transport

If you land at Naples Capodichino airport, the easiest way to start your journey to the Amalfi Coast is to take an ALIBUS bus, which runs every 15-20 minutes and will take you directly to Naples Central Station in about 20 minutes.
From Naples, you have two options:
🔹 By train: regional and high-speed trains reach Salerno station in about 40-50 minutes.
🔹 By bus: you can take a convenient direct bus to Salerno in about an hour. These buses depart frequently from the station or from the Varco Immacolatella stop.

If you arrive at Salerno - Costa d'Amalfi airport, you can easily reach the central station with the Salerno Airlink, the dedicated shuttle bus that connects you to the railway area in about 20 minutes.

Once you arrive in Salerno, we recommend continuing with the famous SITA SUD buses. Buses to Amalfi depart regularly from Salerno Station (Piazza Vittorio Veneto), running every 30-60 minutes, depending on the season. During the high season, you will find buses almost every half hour. The Salerno-Amalfi route takes about 60-70 minutes, passing through picturesque villages such as Vietri sul Mare, Cetara and Minori: a real panoramic tour from the window!

In Amalfi, change buses for Ravello (it takes about 20-25 minutes to get up to the village). Tickets can be easily purchased via the Unico Campania app, at newsagents in the station or directly from official SITA retailers.

📣 You can check the updated SITA bus timetables here and find lots of practical tips for getting around by public transport along the coast.

✅ By ferry: the most scenic way to get there

If you want to experience the charm of the Amalfi Coast from the sea, you can choose the ferry option: every day, especially from April to October, there are frequent departures from Salerno (Molo Concordia) to Amalfi. The journey takes about 60-70 minutes and offers unique views of cliffs, coves and colourful villages. In high season, you may find queues at the ticket office: you can conveniently purchase your tickets online here.
Once you arrive at the port of Amalfi, simply take the SITA bus to Ravello. In just over 20 minutes of scenic uphill driving, you will be at your destination.

🗺️ Things to see on your doorstep

📍 Villa Cimbrone

Villa Cimbrone is a historical gem that stands on a rocky spur overlooking the Gulf of Salerno, the very essence of the Amalfi Coast. You will walk under a magical canopy of wisteria along the famous Viale dell'Immenso until you reach the legendary Terrazza dell'Infinito, a natural balcony from which to contemplate a panorama that looks like a painting.
The villa, an ancient farmhouse converted into a noble residence in the 12th century and later into a charming hotel, retains all the charm of the past, with statues, fountains and grottoes scattered throughout the ornamental park
Strolling through the gardens means losing yourself among neoclassical orders, Gothic inspirations and lush vegetation tended as if in a living painting; every glimpse is an invitation to stay, take a photo and breathe in the history that vibrates between the stones. Open to the public, the park welcomes you in every season, while the villa – now a five-star hotel – continues to exude the nobility and elegance of yesteryear.

📍 Villa Rufolo

Villa Rufolo overlooks Piazza del Vescovado with elegance, right in front of the Duomo, and is one of the most aristocratic historic residences in Ravello. Originally dating back to the 13th century and remodelled in Arab-Norman style, it boasts a splendid cloister with a double row of columns, testimony to local art and medieval culture. At the entrance, the Torre Maggiore rises imposingly, about 30 metres high: climbing its 100 steps, you can enjoy one of the most evocative villages on the Amalfi Coast.
Its terraced gardens are an oasis of tranquillity: in bloom all year round, dotted with statues, hedges and pergolas, they create the perfect backdrop for dream photos.
In the 19th century, Villa Rufolo became a cultural centre when Richard Wagner found inspiration for his Parsifal in the evocative Klingsor Garden. Today, it hosts the prestigious Ravello Festival every year, transforming the mansion into an exceptional musical setting.
Strolling among the terraces, you will feel like the protagonist of a scene suspended between history, nature and art: an exciting experience that will fill you with wonder, whatever your style of travel.

📍 The Cathedral of Ravello

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and San Pantaleone is a true medieval treasure chest in the heart of Ravello, built in 1086 on Benedictine-Cassinese models such as Montecassino.
The sober and charming façade in Moorish Romanesque style shines down on the steps of the square, inviting visitors to enter through the bronze portals created in 1179 by Barisano da Trani, rich in bas-reliefs that tell ancient stories.
Once inside, you will discover wide naves, reused columns and two spectacular ambones – the Epistle one from 1130 and the Gospel one from 1272 – enriched with symbolic bas-reliefs and historical figures. The crypt and sacristy house relics and frescoes, including the ampoule containing the blood of Saint Pantaleon, which is worth a visit on 27 July. Not only a place of worship, but also home to the Cathedral Museum, which displays ancient and contemporary art – sculptures, paintings, sacred objects – in a fascinating journey through different eras.

You are also close to:
📍 Borgo di Scala, the oldest village on the Amalfi Coast
📍 Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium
📍 Castiglione Beach: about a fifteen-minute drive from your accommodation. We recommend it if you want to spend a few hours on a quiet, secluded beach, especially if you get there early in the morning. Be prepared, however, to climb quite a few steps to reach it: the descent will not be a problem, but the climb back up will certainly require a little more effort. Keep this in mind if you are travelling with children or if you have difficulty climbing stairs.

✅ One of the most picturesque routes starts in Ravello and takes you directly to Minori via a charming historic stairway. In less than twenty minutes, walking among ancient steps and quiet corners, you will reach the sea, accompanied by the scent of lemons and the song of cicadas. We recommend experiencing this walk at sunrise or sunset, when the sun casts golden reflections that illuminate the beauty of every stone. From Minori, you can continue along the famous Path of the Lemons, a scenic route through fragrant citrus groves and terraces overlooking the sea, to Maiori: a simple but unforgettable experience.

✅ If you fancy exploring other authentic villages, don't miss Scala, just a few minutes away, where time seems to stand still and the views of the valley are pure poetry. Atrani, the smallest village on the coast, awaits you with its clinging houses and timeless narrow streets, while Amalfi will welcome you with its lively squares, majestic cathedral and characteristic shops. And then there is Positano, about forty minutes away by car, where the maze of narrow streets, boutiques overlooking the sea and iconic beaches create an irresistible setting.
But the real magic of the Amalfi Coast can also be experienced from the sea: treat yourself to a day on a boat and be amazed by the imposing cliffs, hidden coves and villages that seem suspended between sky and water. A sea excursion will give you unique perspectives and unforgettable memories.

✅ If you visit the Amalfi Coast in spring or autumn, take advantage of the milder temperatures to venture as far as Sorrento, elegant and sunny, or immerse yourself in the whirlwind life of Naples, where every corner has a story to tell.
During the Christmas period, however, Salerno becomes an unmissable stop: the famous Luci d'Artista (Artist's Lights) transform the city into a true spectacle of colours and offer you the perfect opportunity to stroll among the illuminations and enjoy shopping in the markets and shops.
Want to make your trip even more special? You can choose from a range of experiences designed to really take you to the heart of this land: for example, take part in a local cooking class in Amalfi to discover the secrets of Campania's dishes alongside those who have been guarding these recipes for generations, or let yourself be guided on a tasting tour of the vineyards of Tramonti, where the wine tells the story and passion of those who produce it.

🗓️ Events not to be missed

✅ Ravello Festival
If there is one event that embodies the refined and poetic soul of Ravello, it is undoubtedly the Ravello Festival. Imagine attending a concert on a stage literally suspended over the sea: in front of you are the artists, behind them the endless blue of the Amalfi Coast, caressed by the evening lights. Every summer, between July and August, Villa Rufolo is transformed into an open-air theatre, offering emotions that are impossible to describe in words. Officially established in 1953 and now in its 72nd edition, the Ravello Festival is one of the most prestigious music festivals in Italy and every year hosts major orchestras, internationally renowned musicians, dance performances, jazz events, cinema and literature.
The most exciting moment? The concert at dawn on 11 August, a unique experience to be enjoyed at least once in a lifetime: music blends with the sunrise over the sea, creating a magical atmosphere that will remain in your heart forever.

✅ The Burning of Torello
If you want to experience a truly authentic event and feel part of a local tradition, don't miss the Burning of Torello, which enlivens this charming village every year on the third weekend of September. The festival began as a religious celebration in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows, but the real spectacle comes on Sunday evening, when the small village is illuminated by an incredible display of lights and fireworks that evoke an ancient episode from local medieval history. During the event, the houses are lit up with colours and the streets are filled with stalls, lights and locals strolling around in a magical, timeless atmosphere. The village of Torello is just a few minutes' walk from the centre of Ravello. Just walk down a short flight of steps to find yourself in the heart of the festivities. If you want to enjoy the fireworks display to the fullest, we recommend watching from Ravello itself, which offers a privileged view thanks to its elevated position.

✅ The Troccola of Good Friday
One of the most intense and least known traditions of the Amalfi Coast is the evocative Troccola of Good Friday in Ravello, a celebration rooted in popular devotion and the collective memory of the village. Every year, during Easter week, Ravello comes alive with a unique ritual: the deep, rhythmic sound of the troccola, an ancient wooden instrument, accompanies the Good Friday procession through the quiet streets of the village. It is a moment full of emotion and spirituality, where the community gathers to remember and relive the Passion of Christ through symbols, songs and gestures handed down from generation to generation. It is not only a religious event, but an authentic experience, capable of bringing even non-believers closer to the power of popular traditions. The troccola, with its deep, rhythmic sound, creates an almost hypnotic atmosphere that transports you back in time. Taking part in this event means discovering the most intimate and sincere side of Ravello, far from the tourist trails, where every step tells stories of faith, community and belonging.

📌 Not to be missed if you are staying here

✅ Pizza with a view at Giuliana’s View
During your stay in Ravello, spending an evening at Giuliana’s View is an experience worth adding to your itinerary. Just a short walk from the historic center, this panoramic pizzeria offers sweeping views over the Amalfi Coast. From its terrace, you can take in the sea and the dramatic scenery that stretches down to the shoreline while enjoying a pizza made in true Italian style. The dough is left to rise slowly for a light and airy texture, then topped with carefully selected, high-quality ingredients. The relaxed and welcoming atmosphere makes it an excellent choice for a sunset dinner or a peaceful way to end a day of exploring. Guests can also take part in cooking classes and pizza-making sessions, adding a memorable, hands-on element to their visit.

✅ A sweet stop at Baffone Gelateria Artigianale
As you wander through Ravello’s charming streets, a stop at Baffone Gelateria Artigianale is perfect for a refreshing treat. This small gelateria stands out for its focus on quality over quantity, offering a refined selection of flavors made with fresh, natural ingredients. Widely appreciated by visitors, it is often regarded as one of the best places for authentic gelato along the Amalfi Coast. Fruit flavors are especially ideal on warm days, while richer options like chocolate and cheesecake provide a more indulgent taste. The setting is simple and authentic, allowing the gelato to take center stage, and it’s an ideal place to pause and enjoy a moment of relaxation during your day.
