Palazzo Cocò, an oasis of peace on the Amalfi Coast, awaits you for an unforgettable experience.
Hidden among the 180 steps leading up from the church of Santa Maria a Mare, this bed and breakfast offers breathtaking views of the sea and coastline.
The 3 rooms (double, triple and quadruple) are tastefully furnished and equipped with every comfort: from private bathrooms with hydromassage showers to satellite television.
There is also the ever-present seaside touch, given by the colourful majolica tiles that add an irresistible touch of cheerfulness and contribute to creating that holiday home-by-the-sea atmosphere, which predisposes one even more to holidays and relaxation.
The main protagonist, however, is the panoramic terrace, with its jacuzzi and solarium, where you can relax, enjoying the sun and the view, sipping a drink and letting your hair down.
The shared, fully-equipped kitchen will allow you to prepare your own meals, while the washing machine and ironing table will be at your disposal for whatever you need.
The property offers its guests a tasty breakfast to get the day off to the best possible start: sip a coffee while admiring the panoramic view you can enjoy thanks to its unique location.
Speaking of unique location, we almost forgot a very important detail: Palazzo Cocò is set along the Path of the lemons, the ancient little road that joined Minori and Maiori.
Today the Path, thanks to the passion and commitment of some locals, is visited by many travellers, who choose it to enjoy a healthy and pleasant panoramic walk.

🧭 How to reach
This building, with its breathtaking view, is about 260 steps from Corso Reginna. You can easily find it by taking the uphill path to the Church of Santa Maria a Mare.
Keep this figure of 160 steps in mind if you have physical difficulties of any kind, if you are travelling with a lot of luggage, or if you simply don't like having to climb so many stairs.
On the other hand, the town of Maiori is easy to reach, even if you travel by public transport.
If travelling by train or bus
✅ From Naples airport, handy ALIBUS buses will take you to the central station every 15-20 minutes. Once there, you can choose between regional or intercity trains to reach Salerno. Alternatively, SITA buses will offer you a direct connection from the port.
✅ From Salerno airport, you can reach the train station in two ways: by the Salerno Airlink shuttle bus, a direct and frequent service, or by taxi, with predetermined fares for greater transparency.
In Salerno, you have two options:
the SITA bus to Amalfi, with a stop in Maiori,
or the TRAVELMAR ferry from Molo Concordia.
Both means of transport will take you to Maiori, in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, in about an hour.
If travelling by car
✅ If you prefer your own car, from the A1 motorway take the Angri exit and follow the signs for Valico di Chiunzi. From here, a picturesque road will take you through the villages of Tramonti to Maiori.
✅ Alternatively, you can take the scenic SS163, admiring the landscapes of Vietri sul Mare and Cetara.
If you're wondering where to park, don't worry: a private pay car park is available nearby!

👍 Why we do recommend it
✅ Secluded location
Palazzo Cocò is located in a position that, if on the one hand requires a little effort to reach it, on the other hand offers the benefits of greater tranquillity and a panoramic view: ideal for relaxing the body and the spirit, without giving up the convenience of staying in a structure not far from the centre.
By choosing Palazzo Cocò, you will find a solution midway between the structure in the centre and the ones located high up on the Coast: you will not have to take the car to reach beaches and places of interest, but you will also not be close to the busiest and noisiest streets.
In short, ideal if you are looking for all-round relaxation!
✅ Cosy, well-kept and comfortable structure
The rooms are comfortable, cosy, furnished with care and love, sparing no detail that recalls the essence of our places: the colours of the Vietri ceramics embellish the pleasantness of the rooms with a touch of brightness.
In addition, the panoramic terrace with jacuzzi and solarium offers that little something extra for those who want to be sure to have everything at hand or want to avoid the beach when it is particularly crowded.
✅ Perfect if you are travelling with your other half
Its secluded position, set in the Sentiero dei Limoni, but still not too far from the centre of Maiori makes it perfect for a romantic getaway with your other half. Imagine: you can sip a drink together in the jacuzzi, in total tranquillity!

🗓️ Events not to be missed
✅ If you are fortunate enough to visit the town during the August bank holiday period, you can immerse yourself in the magical atmosphere of the festival dedicated to Santa Maria a Mare, Maiori's patron saint. The streets come alive with luminarias, the scents of typical sweets invade the air, and the anticipation for the fireworks display is palpable: a unique opportunity to experience local traditions and share the joy with the locals.
We discuss this in detail in this article, dedicated to Ferragosto on the Amalfi Coast.
✅ If instead you prefer the joyful and colourful atmosphere of Carnival, Maiori will surprise you. The Gran Carnevale di Maiori is an unmissable event, with parades of allegorical floats, music, and lots of joy. Here you will find the perfect opportunity to let yourself be carried away by the magic of the moment and create unforgettable memories, especially if you are travelling with children.
✅ Throughout the year, the Porto Turistico of Maiori hosts numerous events. We advise you to inquire in advance to find out what events are scheduled during your stay. You may come across concerts, exhibitions or theme parties, which will make your holiday even more special.
📌 Not to be missed if you stay here
✅ Breakfast with love, at Pasticceria Napoli (right in Corso Reginna)
For an authentic experience, we recommend starting your day with breakfast at Pasticceria Napoli. Here, in addition to delicious pastries and aromatic coffee, you will be welcomed by the friendly owner, who will make you feel at home.
✅ Break with a “sigh”
For a sweeter break, the historic Pasticceria Trieste is another must: its soft and fragrant Sospiri al Limone (Lemon sighs) are a real temptation. Let yourself be cuddled by these little havens of taste and savour the authentic flavour of the Amalfi Coast.
✅ In the summertime, don't miss two true local specialities:
The eggplants with chocolate (we talk about it here) and the ‘panino cu a’ mevza' (the sandwich with bovine spleen, typical street food of Ferragosto maiorese).
